Criminal Record Check

Clients take comfort that all workers on Mycare have a clean criminal record check.  We take care of this for you ask you to upload a recent check (and guide you how to do this if you don't have one) as part of our onboarding process.

When you are creating a Mycare profile, it is part of our trust and safety policies that you upload a recent (last 12 months) Criminal Record Check or NZ Police Vetting result.

You may have a recent check which you can upload, or if not you can follow the link in the 'Documents' tab of your profile to apply for a free MOJ Criminal Record Check.

A Criminal Record Check may take up to 20 working days to return (but is often returned sooner).  Once you have this please upload the result to the Documents tab.  Once all documents are complete our Customer team will check all your documents and let you know that you are now visible on our platform and ready to apply for jobs.

Once you are fully verified and applying for jobs/working on Mycare, we do request an updated Criminal Record Check every three years.  We will remind you of this when the time comes.

What happens if I have a conviction?

If your Criminal Record Check shows any convictions we will need to remove your profile from the Mycare platform. (Note this is not applicable if you are an invited worker who will only work with one client.)

Please keep in mind you may be covered by the Clean Slate Scheme.

You can find our Terms of Service here for more information.

Confidentiality

The information contained in a Criminal Record Check remains the property of you. Mycare will maintain complete confidentiality and ensure the information about any criminal or traffic conviction history is always used solely for the purposes for which it is intended.
