Completing your worker profile

Mycare is an online community that connects people seeking and offering home-based services. We take safety seriously. As a Mycare worker, you must complete a few trust and safety verifications before you can apply for jobs.

Email and Phone Verifications

Email and phone verifications are done in the signup process, these will be verified via a code sent to each of the above.

Police Vetting

When you are creating a Mycare profile, it is mandatory to complete a police vetting form. You will be sent this in your introduction email, to be completed and returned alongside two forms of ID, one being a photo ID and another being an address verification.  We will submit these on your behalf, at no additional cost.

Here is a User Guide To Filling out a Police Vetting Form.

We do not accept police vetting or Ministry of Justice checks that have been self-submitted or completed by other companies. As “the New Zealand Police Vetting Service cannot guarantee the integrity of the information...information released in a vetting result may vary depending on the purpose of the vetting request.”- NZ Police Vetting Service

What happens if I have a conviction?

When you create your profile at Mycare you consent to a Police Vetting being done and indicate you do not have any criminal or traffic convictions. If your vetting comes back with convictions we will need to remove your application to be a worker via the Mycare platform. (Not applicable if you are an invited worker or family carer who will only work with one client.)

Please keep in mind you may be covered by the Clean Slate Scheme.

You can find our Terms of Service here for more information.

Confidentiality

The information contained in a Police Vetting check remains the property of you. Mycare will maintain complete confidentiality and ensure the information about any criminal or traffic conviction history is always used solely for the purposes for which it is intended.

A police vetting record can show your criminal record and any contact you’ve had with the police that may be relevant to someone seeking support.

Profile Picture and Bio

To have a complete and visible profile on Mycare you need a profile picture and a bio (self-description). This is included in our trust and safety as they are key points to clients trying to find appropriate workers.

Consider your Mycare profile as a resume; the more detailed it is, the clearer clients will understand your capabilities and personality.
