How to contact workers on Mycare

Whether you're looking to reach out to a worker with a specific skill set or have care workers applying for your role, Mycare provides a user-friendly platform for safe communication.

Seen a worker profile that seems a good fit?

  1. You must have an open job listing to message a care worker profiled on Mycare.

  2. Message workers by clicking the 'Contact' button on their profile card or full profile.

  3. A short pre-filled message inviting the worker to view the listing you have created will appear. You can use this message, create your own, or add any other information you think is important about your listing. It's a good idea not to send any contact information in this first message – decide first whether you'd like to meet the worker.
  4. If you have more than one listing, select the job you'd like to message from the drop-down box.
  5. Send the message.
  6. The messages you send will appear on your 'Chat' page (found in the left-hand menu). Chat is also where you can check/read any replies and send further messages.
Response times vary. Some workers check their Mycare account regularly, while others may take longer to respond.

Has someone applied for your listing?

  1. Just as you can view worker profiles and send messages, workers in your area can view your listings and apply if they think they have the necessary skills.
  2. It's important to regularly check the Chat tab when you log in to Mycare and when you have a listing, as this is the first point of contact for those seeking work or care.  We'll also send you an email notification if you have a new Chat message that hasn't been read.
  3. Before replying to messages about your listing, review the worker’s profile and any attachments (such as a CV) they have on their profile. Do they have the necessary skills? Are they able to work the days and hours you need?
  4. Type your reply into the comment box and hit the Send button.
  5. Please be courteous and reply to all workers promptly, even if you think they are not the right fit. This allows people to understand the status and move on if needed.

Keeping track

If you click on the worker tab you will see three other tabs.

Care Workers: All workers you have created agreements with (you can remove workers you are no longer working with to keep this list manageable).

Favourites: Any workers you have pressed the favourite button on their profile - this can be helpful if you would like to remember their profile for future contact.

Candidates: All workers who have applied (or you have reached out to) regarding your current listing.  You may 'reject' workers from here (via a polite message), which will allow you to filter to a shortlist by the Applicants tab.
