A community promise for respect, dignity and equality
This Non-Discrimination Commitment is at the heart of the Mycare business ethos and we ask our community of users to promote the key values of respect, dignity and equality so that together we can cultivate a truly supportive community.
Whether you are a worker, organiser or a client we ask you to adhere to our non-discrimination commitment so that we can continue to develop this caring community.
Personal preferences
Mycare’s aim is to provide individuals with choice, flexibility and freedom to find the perfect client or worker.
In order to keep the community respectful and dignified we ask that all personal preference statements refrain from stating what is not wanted.
Instead, we ask users to state what they do want using positive wording that will help cultivate a respectful environment.
For example:
- “I would really like a worker who holds Christian/Muslim/Hindu values”
- “I would really like a female worker for personal cares”
- “I would really like a companion around my own age if possible”
We discourage preferences from including:
- “I would not like” or “I do not want”
- Discrimination based on age
- Discrimination based on sexuality
- Discrimination based on race/ethnicity
- Discrimination based on Disability
Finding a worker/client
When finding a worker/client you have the right to state your personal preferences and to match with whomever you think is the best fit. You may have cultural, religious and/or other personal reasons as to why you are looking for specific characteristics. We respect individual differences and ask our community of users to as well.
Please keep the wording in job advertisements and user profiles positive by only stating what you are looking for. This will help promote understanding and respect of personal differences.
When your preferences cause you to say no to a potential worker/client please ensure that you keep all communication friendly, positive and respectful.
What happens if you do not comply with this Non-Discrimination Commitment?
