Police Vetting

Clients take comfort that all workers on Mycare have a clean police check.  We take care of this for you as part of our onboarding process.

When you are creating a Mycare profile, it is mandatory to complete a police vetting form. You can download the form in the 'Documents' tab of your profile, and re-upload it once you have filled it out.   Police vetting is the final stage of onboarding - once we have all your other onboarding documents we will submit the vetting form on your behalf, at no additional cost.

Here is a User Guide To Filling out a Police Vetting Form.

We do not accept police vetting or Ministry of Justice checks that have been self-submitted or completed by other companies. As “the New Zealand Police Vetting Service cannot guarantee the integrity of the information...information released in a vetting result may vary depending on the purpose of the vetting request.”- NZ Police Vetting Service

What happens if I have a conviction?

When you upload the Police Vetting form at Mycare you consent to a Police Vetting being done and indicate you do not have any criminal or traffic convictions. If your vetting comes back with convictions we will need to remove your application to be a worker via the Mycare platform. (Note this is not applicable if you are an invited worker who will only work with one client.)

Please keep in mind you may be covered by the Clean Slate Scheme.

You can find our Terms of Service here for more information.

Confidentiality

The information contained in a Police Vetting check remains the property of you. Mycare will maintain complete confidentiality and ensure the information about any criminal or traffic conviction history is always used solely for the purposes for which it is intended.

A police vetting record can show your criminal record and any contact you’ve had with the police that may be relevant to someone seeking support.
