Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to personal information (defined in Privacy Act 2020) that we collect through this website: www.mycare.co.nz and should be read along with the Terms of Service applying to this site.

Personal information

We do not collect personal information on this site unless you choose to give it to us. If you provide personal information through this site, it will be held securely by MyCare Limited as required by the Privacy Act 2020.

There are places on the site where you can choose to give us personal information, such as:

• opening and maintaining an account
• entering content for profiles or listings
• entering content to book and pay for visits
• communicating with us or through the site
• using any of the services on the site

Use and disclosure

We will only use personal information that you provide to us through this site for the purposes for which you supplied it or authorise it, to manage your account, provide services to you and other users, for safety and security reasons, for analysis of your usage of our site and services, and in situations permitted under the Privacy Act 2020.

We may use your personal information for the purposes of administering and improving the site and improving our services or communicating with site users.

We generally do not share your personal information with others unless you authorise us to do so, or where this is necessary for the purpose for which you gave us the information (for instance to investigate a complaint or for compliance with the requirements of self-managed funding allocated by a Needs Assessment Service coordination agency). Occasionally the law may require us to disclose it (for instance to investigate a criminal offence), or there may be safety reasons for disclosing it.

Where you are getting or giving support services, and those services are paid for using funding from a Government agency or contracted party (“Agency”), Mycare may make available the following details to the Agency:

• Your full name, date of birth, address and phone number, and your IRD number;
• The dates, times, fees and details relating to the services provided;
• NHI or Agency client reference numbers;
• Qualification

The purposes for which the information will be used is to monitor compliance with the requirements of this funding and to verify claims made in relation to the services you provide for this client. Auditors appointed by the Agency may also review this information. Mycare will always ask you for your permission to share this information.

Website analytics

We analyse non-identifiable web traffic data to improve our services. We use third party services to analyse the web traffic data for us. We own the data that is generated and use it to administer and improve the website. We may collect, hold, and use information about visits to help us improve the site, for instance:

• The search terms you used
• The pages accessed on our site and the links you clicked on
• The date and time you visited the site
• The referring site (if any) through which you clicked through to this site
• Your operating system (eg Windows XP, Mac OS X)
• The type of web browser you use (eg Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox)

The data collected is aggregated and is not personally identifiable. IP addresses are masked so that they cannot be used to identify individuals. Our web analytics will also respect any “do not track” setting you might have set on your browser. We use cookies on our site to allow particular features to work. We also use tracking cookies to track and analyse non-personally identifiable data about our website usage. You can choose to opt out of our tracking cookies without affecting your ability to use the site.

Social networking services

We may use social networking services such as Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. When you communicate with us using these services, the social networking service may collect your personal information for its own purposes. These services may track your use of our website on those pages where their links are displayed. If you are logged in to those services (including any Google service) while using our site, their tracking may be associated with your profile with them. These services have their own privacy policies which are independent of ours.

Your rights and choices
